Tisch MS hackathon and the ML Guild

In Spring 2019 I joined a Deloitte pro bono collaboration with the Tisch MS Research Center of New York. More than 130 teams competed in the Tisch MS Data Insight Challenge on immunoglobulin sequences and B-cell subtypes from real clinical data; our team won the firmwide ML Guild hackathon.

The work reached the center's Healing MS newsletter and Deloitte's public release on AI-accelerated MS research. I went on to lead ML Guild curriculum nationally, teaching production ML to more than a hundred practitioners. A model only matters when someone in the room can explain what it means, who will act, and whether the organization can absorb the answer.
